MMR is a safe and effective combined vaccine that protects against three separate illnesses – measles, mumps and rubella (German measles) – in a single injection. The full course of MMR vaccination requires 2 doses.
Measles, mumps and rubella are highly infectious conditions that can have serious, and potentially fatal, complications, including meningitis, swelling of the brain (encephalitis) and deafness.
If you have not previously received your vaccination, please telephone the surgery to book an appointment with the nurse.
Self Care is about looking after yourself; living a healthy lifestyle and looking at what you can do and want to do- rather than what you can’t do.
It is also about taking responsibility for your own health and wellbeing with the support of the people involved in your care.
This could be brushing your teeth regularly, taking medicine when you have a cold, or doing some exercise. It is really important to help keep yourself as well as possible.
We have a useful Self Care leaflet available to pick up in the surgery or access it here Keep Calm and Self Care

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement, ear syringing, wound dressing, stop smoking clinics and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
The practice manager ensures the practice runs smoothly and efficiently for doctors, nurses, receptionists, and of course patients.
The friendly reception team is here to provide a link rather than a barrier between you and the doctors and nurses. They will do their best to help you, please do likewise. Reception is open to answer enquiries and book appointments from Monday to Friday 08:30 to 17:30.
