Flu Vaccinations

If you are in an "At risk" group (see below), please book an appointment for your flu vaccination now.

Flu can be unpleasant, but if you are otherwise healthy it will usually clear up on its own within a week.

However, flu can be more severe in certain people, such as:

  • anyone aged 65 and over
  • pregnant women
  • children and adults with an underlying health condition (such as long-term heart or respiratory disease)
  • children and adults with weakened immune systems

The NHS Friends and Family Test

The NHS Friends and Family Test is a simple question that patients across the country are asked about the care they have received.

Patients are asked: “How likely are you to recommend our service to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?”

Patients can choose from a number of responses ranging from ‘extremely likely’ to ‘extremely unlikely’.

The test aims to encourage patient feedback, show patients that their views and experiences matter to the NHS, and improve patient experience

Self Care   self care

Self Care is about looking after yourself; living a healthy lifestyle and looking at what you can do and want to do- rather than what you can’t do.

It is also about taking responsibility for your own health and wellbeing with the support of the people involved in your care.

This could be brushing your teeth regularly, taking medicine when you have a cold, or doing some exercise. It is really important to help keep yourself as well as possible.

We have a useful Self Care leaflet available to pick up in the surgery or access it here Keep Calm and Self Care

Doctors' Appointments

01274 371380

Surgery times vary. Routine appointments are for 10 minutes duration. To ensure continuity of care try to see the same doctor for on-going problems if possible

If you need to see a doctor within 24 hours we will usually be able to do this, but you may not be able to choose a particular doctor.

You can book and cancel appointments online with SystmOnline via the link at the top of this page.

Medical Emergencies

Please telephone the surgery on 01274 371380. Genuine medical emergencies will always be accommodated.

Telephone Advice

01274 371380

If you need to speak to a doctor or nurse for medical advice please telephone 01274 371380 during working hours.

If a doctor or nurse is not available we will ask you to call back (for example the doctor will not usually be able to speak to you if already consulting in surgery).

Nurse Appointments

01274 371380

Nurse appointments are available throughout the day, Monday to Friday.

Chaperone Policy

When you are seeing the doctor or nurse you may be offered a chaperone for certain examinations. This is in line with national guidance to support and protect us all, and all our staff have been fully trained in this role. Any patient can request a chaperone; it will not affect their treatment. A doctor or nurse may request a chaperone but will always discuss this with you and you may, of course, refuse. If you would like to discuss the role of chaperones, please ask the doctor or nurse.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
